Flying Fillies: Natural and Ready to Run
30 Oct 2006
The annual New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run sale breeze ups were held at Te Rapa on Thursday-Friday 26/27th October. The quality of catalouge and individual will no doubt lead to a strong sale, with a strong representation of sires hoping to attract an international buying bench.
The fastest time recorded over the two days was lot 175, a chesnut filly by Pins, out of Libre(Grosvenor), who showed a great attitude and turn of foot to record 10.01 sec for the 200m. This filly was sold to her current Wellington owners by Michael Wallace Bloodstock earlier this year.
Also of interest to MWB was lot 333, a Flying Spur filly out the Don't Say Halo mare Voregal. This filly was selected by Badgers Bloodstock and Michael Wallace Bloodstock at the 2006 Inglis Easter Yearling sale. Showing a clean galloping style, this filly recorded 10.37 sec, which was the 5th fastest time of the sessions.
Exciting times lay ahead for both fillies, as their education becomes complete and they find their way to the racetrack.
