Splashing Out's Group Three victory at Caulfield on Saturday, not only provided Waikato Stud with another Black Type broodmare, but also enhanced the pedigree of MWB recent purchase Cape Merlot.
Cape Merlot (Cape Cross) was purchased at the recent NZB National Broodmare sale as a maiden mare. Cape Merlot is from the successful Bourban Lass family, which includes Iguazu, the dam of Splashing Out (O'Reilly). Cape Merlot has visited O'Reilly this year.
